Woolacombe is definately your best bet as a learner. A long beach (sandy bottom) and a little less packed-out then Croyde. Saunton has a more mellow wave (longboarder) and it also a great place to saf...

I don't know any schools, but look around Croyde and Saunton Sands - these are the main surf areas.......
